One of the government initiatives named the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) provides financial assistance to the families of the RPF/RPSF members is the Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force.
The primary objective of this program is to encourage advanced technical and professional education among eligible nominees. This program is mainly under the Ministry of Railways and every year the the National Defense Fund contributes funds for roughly 150 scholarships.
The amount of Rs.2500 per month will provided to the male and Rs. 3,000 to the female recipients. The families having the two dependents are eligible to apply for the Scholarship. The regional Railway/RPSF authority will do the verification of the applications. The award is mainly given for the program or the five years whichever is less.

Eligibility Criteria PMSS RPF Scholarship
The nominees to be eligible for the scholarship must have to meet the following requirements:
- The individuals must be spouses of the RPF or RPSF or the dependent child or widow of the dead member.
- The individuals must be enrolled in one of the programs: B.E., B.Tech, MBBS, MCA, B.Pharma, or B.Ed. The NCTE, MCI, UGC, or AICTE
- The nominees must receive 60% of the possible points into the graduate, diploma, or Class 12.
Documents Required PMSS RPF Scholarship
- The nominees belonging to Category IV are required to possess a service certificate from the office relevant.
- The applicant must hold copies of the Pension Payment Order (PPO) from Categories I, II, and III as the service book or discharge certificate.
- The individuals must holy copies of their educational qualifications, certificates, and mark sheets.
- The nominees from the Category IV candidates must hold the updated service certificate which is issued by the office of the serving personnel (refer to Annexure II).
- The applicants must hold the progress reports and the scanned copies of the required grade.
PMSS RPF Scholarship: Selection Process
- The regional Railway/RPSF officials and the education institution must verify the candidates.
- The Director General of RPF approved the ranking that is made based on merit.
- The nominees who are approved for this scholarship will directly get the amount under the bank accounts.
Benefits of the Scholarship
- The monthly allowance of Rs.2500 will given to the male candidates, and Rs.3000 will be provided to the female nominees.
- For the course duration of five years whichever is shorter, the tuition fees and other costs will be paid.
